Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan — Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain how the Yorkshire Boilers & Heating Services Ltd Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan works. Please read them before joining the plan. They apply alongside our general Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

The Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan is a servicing and customer-membership plan. It is not boiler insurance, breakdown insurance or an insurance-backed boiler-cover policy.

One-Off Service

£85

One payment — no ongoing plan

Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan

£6per month

£72 over 12 monthly payments

1. About the plan

Yorkshire Boilers & Heating Services Ltd offers two ways to arrange an annual boiler service.

One-off annual boiler service — £85

Customers can book and pay £85 for a standard annual boiler service without joining the monthly plan.

Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan — £6 per month

Customers who want ongoing servicing and additional membership benefits can join our Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan for £6 per month (£72 over 12 monthly payments). The plan provides more than a standard one-off annual boiler service and includes the additional benefits described below.

2. Joining after the first service

Where a customer initially books a one-off annual boiler service for £70, they can choose to join the Annual Boiler & Heating Service Plan following completion of that service. The initial £70 service is separate. The subsequent £6 monthly payments build towards the next annual boiler service and provide ongoing membership benefits.

3. What the plan includes

  • One annual boiler service after 12 qualifying monthly payments
  • Boiler safety and operational checks
  • Flue and combustion checks where applicable
  • Gas pressure and boiler performance checks where applicable
  • Boiler and heating-controls check
  • System-pressure check
  • Inspection for visible leaks, corrosion or deterioration
  • Magnetic system filter inspection and cleaning where fitted and safely accessible
  • Basic heating-system water-condition assessment where reasonably practicable
  • Radiator performance check
  • Bleeding accessible radiators where reasonably required
  • Complimentary heating-system health check
  • Service record
  • Automatic annual service reminder
  • Priority annual-service booking
  • Priority boiler-repair booking
  • Member repair rates where applicable
  • One complimentary boiler or heating-system fault-assessment visit per completed 12-month membership cycle

Exact service procedures vary depending on boiler make, model, installation, condition and manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Complimentary fault-assessment visit

One complimentary initial boiler/heating fault-assessment visit is included in each completed 12-month membership cycle. It includes:

  • Attendance during normal working hours
  • Initial inspection of the reported fault
  • Basic diagnostic testing
  • Explanation of the likely cause where reasonably identifiable
  • Advice about recommended repair or further investigation

It does not include:

  • Replacement parts
  • Repair labour
  • Emergency attendance
  • Out-of-hours attendance
  • Unlimited diagnostics
  • Subsequent visits
  • Full strip-down investigation
  • Powerflushing
  • Chemical flushing
  • System repairs
  • Radiator repairs
  • Pipework repairs
  • Electrical work outside the boiler

If repairs or further investigation are required, these must be quoted separately. Unused complimentary fault assessments do not roll over. They have no cash value.

5. Annual heating-system health check

During the annual plan service, we carry out a reasonable visual and operational assessment of the heating system. This may include:

  • Radiator performance
  • Obvious cold areas
  • Accessible radiator valves
  • Bleeding accessible radiators where required
  • System pressure
  • Heating controls
  • Magnetic filter condition
  • Visible leaks
  • Visible corrosion
  • Basic water-condition assessment

The health check does not guarantee every hidden fault can be identified.

6. Radiator bleeding

Radiator bleeding is included where it is required, reasonably accessible, the bleed valve operates normally, and it can reasonably be completed during the scheduled service. Repair of seized or defective radiator valves is not included. Any defective parts or additional repair work will be separately quoted.

7. Magnetic filter cleaning

Where fitted and safely accessible, we inspect and clean the magnetic filter as part of the annual service where appropriate. This excludes replacement filter, major repair, new installation, major pipework alteration, severe contamination removal, chemical cleaning and powerflushing.

8. System-water assessment

Where reasonably practicable, we assess the apparent condition of system water. If contamination or corrosion is suspected, we will recommend further treatment where appropriate. Chemical cleaning, inhibitor treatment involving additional materials or work, powerflushing and full system flushing are separately chargeable.

9. What the plan does not include

  • Replacement parts
  • Boiler repair labour
  • Breakdown repairs
  • Unlimited call-outs
  • Emergency attendance
  • Out-of-hours emergency attendance
  • Powerflushing
  • Full radiator/system flushing
  • Chemical cleaning
  • Additional gas appliances
  • Landlord Gas Safety Certificates
  • Gas fire servicing
  • Cooker servicing
  • Radiator replacement
  • Radiator-valve replacement
  • Pipework repairs
  • Leak repairs
  • Pumps or zone valves
  • External heating-system electrical repairs
  • Boiler replacement
  • Remedial work
  • Work needed to correct an unsafe or incorrectly installed appliance/system

Additional work will always be discussed and quoted separately.

10. Member repair rates

Active plan customers may receive preferential member pricing on selected boiler repair labour or heating work. We do not promise a specific percentage discount. Member pricing does not mean labour, repairs or parts are free.

11. Price

The plan costs £6 per month (£72 over 12 monthly payments). Payments are normally collected by Direct Debit.

12. Direct Debit

Payments are normally collected monthly. You are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. You can cancel the Direct Debit instruction through your bank at any time. Please also notify Yorkshire Boilers & Heating Services Ltd if you are cancelling your membership — cancelling the Direct Debit through your bank does not automatically remove any outstanding obligation you may have to us.

13. Annual service entitlement

The next included annual service becomes available once 12 successful qualifying monthly payments have been received. A qualifying payment is one successfully collected and not subsequently reversed or refunded. Missed payments may delay the annual service entitlement.

14. Continuing membership

After the first 12 payments, the plan continues monthly unless cancelled. Subsequent payments build towards the following annual service.

15. Failed payments

  • We will contact you where appropriate
  • Payment may be retried
  • Membership benefits may be suspended while payment remains outstanding
  • Already successful qualifying payments will not automatically disappear
  • Repeated failed payments may result in cancellation

16. Appointment hours

Normal plan appointments and complimentary assessment visits are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, excluding bank holidays. Priority booking does not mean guaranteed same-day or emergency attendance.

17. Eligible boilers

The plan is mainly for domestic natural-gas boilers in residential properties inside our normal service area. The appliance must be safely accessible, serviceable, of a type our engineers are qualified to work on, and within our normal operating area. Unless specifically agreed, the plan excludes commercial boilers, oil boilers, LPG appliances, biomass appliances and air-source heat pumps.

18. Unsafe appliances

Membership does not guarantee your boiler is free from faults. If an appliance is found to be unsafe, our engineers must follow applicable Gas Safe procedures. Any repair or remedial work remains separately chargeable.

19. Manufacturer warranties

Manufacturers may have their own annual servicing requirements. It remains your responsibility to comply with your specific warranty conditions. We provide a service record where appropriate.

20. Cancellation

You can cancel the plan at any time. There is no separate administration cancellation fee. We recommend you:

  1. Contact Yorkshire Boilers & Heating Services Ltd, and
  2. Cancel the Direct Debit instruction with your bank where appropriate.

21. Cancelling before the next annual service

If you cancel before completing the 12 payments required for your next annual service, successful monthly payments already made may be retained as credit towards one standard annual boiler service. You should normally use this credit within six months of cancellation. You will pay the difference between your accumulated plan credit and the standard boiler-service price applicable at booking. Credit does not normally have cash value except where required by law or where an incorrect payment has been taken.

22. Statutory cooling-off rights

Nothing in these terms removes any statutory consumer cancellation rights you may have. Where applicable, customers entering the plan remotely may have a 14-day statutory cancellation period. See our Consumer Contracts Regulations Notice for further information.

23. Moving home

If you move home and your new address is within our normal service area and has an eligible boiler, your membership and qualifying-payment history can normally transfer. The boiler at the new home may need inspection before continued eligibility is confirmed. If you permanently move outside our service area and we cannot continue the plan, we will handle any unused payments or service entitlement fairly.

24. Boiler replacement

If your boiler is replaced, membership can normally transfer to an eligible replacement boiler and your existing qualifying payments remain credited. The next annual service date may move to the commissioning/warranty anniversary of the new boiler. Boiler replacement itself is not included in the plan.

25. Access

You must provide reasonable, safe access to the boiler, controls and relevant heating-system components. Repeated missed appointments or lack of access may lead to reasonable additional charges.

26. Changes to price or benefits

If we materially change the plan, we will give reasonable advance notice and allow you to cancel if you do not accept the change. We will not unfairly remove entitlement you have already accrued.

27. Our right to cancel membership

We may reasonably cancel your membership where: payments repeatedly fail; your property falls outside our service area; the appliance cannot safely be serviced; access cannot be provided; your behaviour is abusive or threatening; continuing would require unsafe or unlawful work; or material information has been deliberately misrepresented. We will handle any already-earned service entitlement fairly.

28. Complaints

See our Complaints Procedure. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
